This Acceptable Use Policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone using GeoMatch Proxy, and to all traffic sent through our proxies from your account.
1. Permitted use
GeoMatch Proxy is built for people who need to view websites from a particular location, for example:
- checking how adverts, search results, listings or prices appear in another city;
- testing and quality-checking your own or your clients' websites and apps by location;
- reviewing local content, marketplaces and services for research or support;
- seeing what a customer sees, using an IP address they have shared with you.
2. Prohibited use
You must not use the Service, or allow anyone else to use it, to:
Illegal or harmful activity
- break any law or regulation, or help anyone else do so;
- access, store, send or distribute child sexual abuse material, or any content that exploits or harms minors;
- promote or facilitate terrorism, violent extremism, trafficking, or threats or harassment of any person;
- infringe others' intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights, including distributing pirated content.
Fraud and deception
- commit or attempt fraud, including payment, card, account-takeover, identity, advertising or click fraud;
- impersonate any person or organisation, or run phishing or scam sites or campaigns;
- create fake accounts, reviews, votes, likes or other fake engagement, or manipulate rankings, polls or giveaways;
- evade bans, geographic licensing, sanctions or export controls, or use the Service from, or for the benefit of, sanctioned countries, persons or organisations;
- circumvent restrictions on gambling, betting, financial or other regulated services where doing so is unlawful.
Attacks and abuse of systems
- gain or attempt unauthorised access to any system, account or data, including credential stuffing, password guessing and vulnerability scanning without the owner's permission;
- send malware, run botnets or command-and-control traffic, or carry out denial-of-service attacks;
- send spam or unsolicited bulk messages, or harvest email addresses or personal data;
- bypass CAPTCHAs, paywalls, rate limits or other technical protections, or carry out high-volume automated scraping that breaches the target website's terms or the law;
- buy up limited-availability items (such as tickets or sneakers) using bots or multiple identities.
Misuse of our service
- share, sell, resell, sublicense or publish your account, access tokens or proxy credentials, or use them outside the GeoMatch Proxy extension, unless we agree in writing;
- use the Service to build or supply a competing proxy service;
- interfere with, probe, overload or attempt to get round the limits, billing or security of GeoMatch Proxy or our providers;
- use the Service for anything that could expose us or our providers to legal liability, or damage the reputation of our residential IP addresses.
3. Your responsibility
You are responsible for all activity from your account and for following the terms of the websites you visit. Many websites restrict the use of proxies or automation; using GeoMatch Proxy doesn't give you permission to break those rules. When you use an IP address that someone else has given you, make sure you have their permission and that your use respects their privacy.
4. Monitoring and enforcement
- We automatically flag unusual patterns, such as switching between many cities in a short time, and our staff may review your connection records.
- We may warn you, limit your account, revoke your proxy login, suspend or close your account and report activity to the authorities, depending on how serious we reasonably believe a breach is. We may act without notice where needed to prevent harm.
- Data remaining on an account closed for breaching this policy is forfeited and not refunded.
- Our providers may also take action against traffic that breaches their own rules.
5. Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is misusing GeoMatch Proxy, email hello@geomatchproxy.com with the IP address, time (including timezone) and a description of what happened. We'll investigate and act where appropriate.
